Note: Please keep in mind that if the person you are sending email to has their email format set to Plain Text, they will not see the VeriSign logo in your signature. The logo is a graphic, which Plain Text formats can not support. If you know the person you are sending email to has their email format set to Plain Text, it is strongly recommended that you use the Rich Text or Plain Text formats.
Important: Extract the .ZIP files onto your hard drive. The graphic will not display correctly in the HTML if the files are not saved locally to your computer.
Save the anniversarySig.zip file to your Desktop: click on the link to the ZIP file and when the dialog box asks you to Save or Open, choose Save. Browse to your Desktop, then click OK.
Right-click the anniversarySig.zip file on your Desktop.
Select "Extract All..." from the popup box.
In the Extraction Wizard, click Next.
On the second page of the Extraction Wizard, click Browse.
Choose the My Documents folder from the list. Click OK. This will close the Browse window.
On the extraction wizard window, click Next.
The bar at the bottom of the Extraction Wizard will show the progress of the extraction. Once finished, click Finish.
This will create a folder in My Documents with all the files in the ZIP extracted into it.
If this doesn't work, double-click on the anniversarySig.zip file on your Desktop.
In the File menu, choose "Extract All..."
Follow steps d-i above.
The final step will open a new window with the 4 email signature files:
-sigLogo.gif (the VeriSign 25th Anniversary logo graphic)
-anniversarySig.html (the HTML version of the VeriSign email Signature with instructions)
-anniversarySig.txt (the text-only version of the VeriSign email Signature with instructions).
-anniversarySig.rtf (the Rich Text version of the VeriSign email Signature with instructions).
In Outlook, in the Tools menu, select Options.
Click the Mail Format tab.
Set the mail format to HTML.
Click Apply.
On the same page, click the Signatures button.
Click the New button.
Type a name for the signature (i.e. VeriSign HTML), and then click OK.
Select all the information below the double lines found at the bottom of these instructions and copy it.
Go back to Outlook and Paste it into the Signature Text box.
Edit the text to reflect your name, title, phone numbers, address, etc.
You can Preview your signature from the Edit Signature dialog box and make any edits or updates.
On the Choose default signature, if it is not already selected, select the signature you just created (i.e. VeriSign HTML) for the "New messages:" pull-down. You have the option to select your signature for New messages and/or Replies/forwards.
Click OK.
Test by opening a new email message to compose. You should see your signature in the body of the email. Send the email as a test. Note: You may want to send the message to an email account outside the company to see how it looks.
Note: You may delete the ZIP file from your Desktop at this time. However, do NOT delete the folder that was created in My Documents. It will cause the image to become broken in your email signature.
